Edra M. Olson, 82, formerly of Leonard, North Dakota passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City. Edra was born February 19, 1933 in Fargo, North Dakota to Walter and Edna (Payne) Lien. She graduated from Fargo Central High School. She went on to graduate with a Teaching Certificate from Moorhead Teachers College. She taught 2nd grade in Leonard, North Dakota before marrying Howard Olson on July 1, 1955 at First Presbyterian Church, Fargo. They moved to Wimbledon, North Dakota where she taught before retiring and moving home to Leonard. Howard passed away in 2001 and Edra moved to West Fargo shortly after. She spent many years with Howard attending the Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion. She loved gardening, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children; Gary (Pat) Olson, Milnor, North Dakota, Dennis (Betty) Olson, Yale, Oklahoma, Howard (Betty) Olson, Oriska, North Dakota, brother, James (Janice) Lien, Golden Valley, Minnesota, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard, sisters, Cecelia Lien and Marilyn Booth, nephew, Terry Booth and niece, Sandy Booth. Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 6, 2015 at Fredrikson-Boulger Funeral Chapel, Kindred with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. May the ‘God of all comfort’ be with you and your family during this difficult time. At 1 Corinthians 15:26 the Bible promises that very soon ‘death will be brought to nothing’. Then we have the prospect of being reunited with our loved ones right here on this earth {John 5 :28,29}.   9. Edra was a wonderful person, and she and Howard were always welcoming and full of fun. We will remember you in our prayers.

  10. Edna was a very close friend as we lived in the same block. I was with her playing the day before she came down with polio. I have thought of her often over the years and was so happy she overcame he issues with polio.
