Edward ?Ed? O?Gorman , 84, of 1423 14th St. S., Fargo, ND died Friday, January 30, 2004 in his home under the care of Hospice with his family present. Edward James O?Gorman the son of John & Minnie (Kirkee) O?Gorman was born April 3, 1919 in Grand Forks, ND. He grew up on the family farm near Caledonia, ND and attended school there. Ed began farming the family farm at the age of 16 after his father?s death. Edward married Pearl M. Barthelemy on Nov. 4, 1943 in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hillsboro, ND. The couple farmed in the Hillsboro area. Ed was an aircraft owner and pilot--he used his airplane to cross-pollinate alfalfa and for recreational flying. In the 1950's they moved from the farm to Hillsboro , but continued to farm until retiring in 1971, then moved to St. Cloud, MN for one year to develop a family farm. They moved to Moorhead, MN then relocated to Colorado in 1968 to establish a landscaping business. Ed and his family moved to Arizona in 1975 because of health problems. After 20 years they returned to ND for summers and in 1990 returned to live permanently Fargo. Ed and Pearl?s 25th and 50th Anniversaries were held in St. Rose of Lima, Hillsboro. Their 60th Anniversary on Nov. 4, 2003 was not celebrated due to Ed?s failing health. Ed was a member of the Knights of Columbus in ND, AZ, and CO and a member of the Flying Farmers in ND. He was an avid antique collector. He enjoyed his traveling throughout the United States and Europe with family and a highlight was attending his granddaughter Crystal?s baptism in Germany. Edward is survived by his wife, Pearl Marie; Children: Mary Clair (Gary) Barkley , Cape Vincent, NY, James (Jo Ann) , Tucson, AZ., Theresa (Bobby) Stone, Chandler, AZ, Timothy (Sylvia), Rochester, MN, Sue Johnson, Loveland, CO; twelve grandchildren: Beth, JR, Christine, Cathy, Crystal, Donnie, Michael, Jenny, Brendan, Donovan, Jolene and Michelle; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by a sister Margaret Mooney, Hillsboro, ND and a brother Tom O?Gorman of San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard and his wife Marlene; his parents John and Minnie (Kirkee) O?Gorman; brothers: Anthony(Tony) and Joseph; sisters: Mary Francis Mooney and Veronica O?Gorman. Visitation: Monday, 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo, ND with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Hillsboro, ND Burial: St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Hillsboro, ND Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND
