Eileen J. Hutchins, age 81, formerly of Crookston, MN, died Sunday morning, March 13, 2005 in Eventide Living Center, Moorhead, MN with her family at her side. Eileen Joyce Anderson was born February 19, 1924 in Morgan Park (Duluth), MN to the late Peter and Christine Anderson. Following graduation from high school, Eileen moved to Crookston, MN where she worked for a time as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone and later as a receptionist for Riverview Hospital. On September 3, 1947, Eileen was united in marriage to Charles (Chuck) Hutchins at Duluth. They established their home in Crookston where Chuck worked as a locomotive engineer for the Great Northern/BNSF Railroad, and together with Eileen owned and operated the Rainbow Court Motel and the Colonade Apartments. Their son Scott was born in Crookston on July 2, 1951. The special bond of mother and son was always present in her life. Eileen?s family circle grew upon the marriage of Scott to Cindy Maves in 1976. Chuck and Eileen greatly enjoyed the friendship of Cindy?s parents, Russ and Eleanore and their family, which continued throughout the years. Eileen and Chuck retired in 1986 and moved to their country home near Union Lake, Erskine, MN. Following Chuck?s death in 1991, Eileen moved back to Crookston. She enjoyed participating with her friends in the activities of Trinity Lutheran Church and WELCA. To be closer to her family, Eileen moved to Moorhead in the fall of 2000 living at Eventide Linden Tree Circle and since July 2004 Eventide Living Center. Eileen took great delight in being a constant part of the lives of her grandsons, John and Joe. She was truly their number one fan. During her life Eileen endured physical struggles with a remarkable resilience and gentle spirit. Eileen?s unconditional love for her family, pleasant manner and warm smile will always be remembered. Surviving family members include son Scott and daughter-in-law Cindy, Moorhead, MN; grandsons, John, Minneapolis, MN and Joe, St. Paul, MN; brothers-in-law Earl (Jane) Hutchins, Colorado Springs, CO, Richard (Pat) Hutchins, Rockledge, Florida, and Eugene (Barb) Hutchins, Owatonna, MN; as well as nieces and nephews.
