Elder Erickson

Elder Erickson, 96, of Fargo, formerly of Kindred, ND passed away at Bethany Homes where he has resided since 2003.

The youngest of 6 siblings, Elder was born September 18, 1916 at Kindred to Edward & Andine Erickson, grew up on the family farm & graduated from Kindred High School in 1935.

He married Alice Liudahl November 30, 1941 & they continued to live & work on the farm until they moved to Fargo in 1997. Besides farming, Elder was also a Kindred school bus driver for 20 years, & a volunteer EMT.

Elder was a member of Gol Lutheran church from infancy & continued, with Alice, to serve there throughout their active years. They were also members of Sons of Norway & involved in community events. They enjoyed traveling, dancing & gardening. Elder was an accomplished woodworker & made several pieces of furniture.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife & siblings. He is survived by his daughter and family, Jan (Rudy) Blake of Spokane, WA, Ryan, Tyson and Rebecca (Andy); son and family Orv (Lynne) Erickson of Potterville, MI, Shawn, Nic (Ale) and Ashley (Jay) & son and family James (Judy) Erickson of Fargo Jesse, Meggie and Lizzy; & 5 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Hazel LaBatte of Lake Park, MN, Agnes Liudahl of West Fargo, Mildred (Gerald) Nordquist of Washburn, ND.
