Elizabeth (Betty) Raftevold, age 78, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, surrounded by her loving family. Elizabeth Mae Tehle was born in 1942 to Joseph and Irene Tehle in Breckenridge, Minnesota, where she was raised and graduated from Breckenridge High School. She met her husband, Ron, and they were married September 10, 1960. They were blessed with four children, Robin (Wendy), Scott, Michelle, and Tim (Laurie); eight grandchildren, Joshua (Nadege), Ryan (Carly), Brianne (Eric Eidenschink), Brittany, Travis, Austyn (Kelsey), Dallas, and Dylan (Hope); and five great-grandchildren, Winnie Rose, Zane Ely, Alexis Raye, Otto Payne, and Betty Ann. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ron, and a brother Don (Barb), Pocatello, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Theresa, Joanne, and Pat, and brothers Mark, Albert “Butch”, Joseph, and Richard. She leaves many nieces and nephews. Betty’s greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren’s sports and activities; and her daily get-togethers with all of her dear friends at the complex. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM Monday, February 22, 2021 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 2 PM Monday at the Fargo National Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend the service and COVID precautions will be followed. For those not able to attend, live streaming will be available on the funeral home website.   2. I have lost Avery good friend with Betty’s passing. But she didn’t lay and suffer. Being neighbors with Ron and Betty for years I am saddened for Ron and the kids. My late husband always said old friends are the best friends. Love and prayers to you all. Ruthie Asmus

  3. What a great picture of Betty! She will definitely be missed by many. Growing up I spent many hours at her house and will never forget her laugh. She and Ron raised an amazing family and my thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Heaven definitely got a beautiful sole.

  7. Betty was more than a sister-in -law to me and our family. She had just called a few day’s before she died .
    She had a distinct voice and her laugh was contagious. In spite of her numerous knee surgeries and other
    medical issues she was always upbeat and never felt sorry for herself but was a fighter. She is with all who
    proceeded her playing “Grandma’s Poker “ or any other Tehle card game . You will be greatly missed.

    I am sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. My mom, Helen Smith was a dear friend of Betty’s. She was a wonderful friend and person; my mother used to speak very highly of her. My heart is sadden to know Betty’s laugh and good heart is gone from this earth. God bless her family.

    I remember many great times with the Tehle family at Ma’s, the card games
    the boys coming home from Casey’s, the family hugs.

You were a great friend and police associate while my tenure with the Fargo Police Dept. I recall you and Betty were like joined at the hip and I’m sure it will be difficult for you, but life does go on and with the support of your family and friends, you’ll do okay.
