Elvina Eidum, age 91, passed away Monday, January 19, 2004, in Helena, MT, following a brief illness.
She was born on the family farm near Nielsville, MN on March 6, 1912, to Emma (Smith) and Peter Swenson, the 12th of 13 children. She graduated from high school in Caledonia, ND the only family member fortunate enough to graduate from high school.
She married Palmer Eidum in Hillsboro, ND, and had 4 children. They later divorced.
The family moved to Helena, MT in 1962. Elvina enjoyed researching family history, as well as organizing and attending family reunions. She made many friends at Eagles Manor over the last few years. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Elvina was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, five sisters, and one daughter, Pamela, who died in infancy.
She is survived by a daughter, Paulette Eidum, and sons Parnell Eidum (Jo) and Perry Eidum (Elaine), all of Helena, MT, and grand children Penny Eidum of Boulder, MT, Kevin Paul Eidum of Fargo, ND, Jennifer Eidum serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine, Kelly and Kory Howard, Parker and Fletcher Eidum, and Mike Eidum, all of Helena, MT, and four great grand children.
Funeral services will be held at Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro, ND on Saturday, January 24 at 2 p.m.. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro.
