Obituary

Esther Eileen (Langager) Ask, 94, Fargo, ND died Monday, October 13, 2014.

It is with great sadness and an immense loss we announce the passing of Esther

Eileen Ask our mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Esther Eileen Langager was born July 17, 1920 in Hope, ND. Esther married Kenneth Ask on April 8, 1942. They were married seventy years. Esther was preceded in death by husband Kenneth, parents Sven and Ada, brothers; James, Richard and Cyril, sisters; Ellen, Doris and Ruth. Survived by her children; Mary Hendrickson (Rick) Edina, MN and Michael (Sue) New Hope, MN. Grandchildren; Sven Hendrickson Minneapolis, MN, Ian Hendrickson Washington D.C., Katie and Emily Ask Minneapolis, MN. Sisters; Marion (Olafson) Valley City, ND, Phyllis (Simenson) Cooperstown, ND and Olive (Zerface) Hillsboro, ND. And, sisters-­]in-­]law; Ardele Rosendahl Fargo, ND, Bernice Peck (Paul) Seattle, WA. Sharon Langager Arthur, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

Since Ken’s death Esther lived at Bethany Ecumen in Alexandria, MN. A special thank-­]you to the staff at Bethany and Douglas County Hospice for their compassionate and respectful care of Esther.

Esther spent most of her life in Fargo, ND with the last two years at Bethany Ecumen in Alexandria, MN. Esther retired from NDSU in 1981. Esther’s life was full of love for family and friends, joyfulness in hard work, and selflessly serving others. 

Esther and Ken were lifelong members of Peace Lutheran church. Memorials preferred to the Peace Lutheran Foundation (www.fargopeace.org) or Hospice of Douglas County; 725 Elm St. Suite 1200 Alexandria, MN 56308.
