In 1943, while continuing to farm, they bought a house in Fargo, where Eunice lived for 50 years. She was a passionate lover of music, which she passed on to her sons, and through much of her life an avid horseback rider. She was a longtime member of Nativity parish, where she sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and seven of her ten siblings.
