Eva Louise (Eve) Henderson, 84, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND. Eva Louise Chilson was born on November 6, 1922 in Pingree, North Dakota to Louie and Enid Chilson. The family moved to Jamestown when she was in the third grade. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1941. Eve worked for the Midland Continental Railroad until she married James (Jim) Henderson in Jamestown on November 24, 1943. They lived in Eagle Butte, SD until James was drafted by the US Army in April of 1944. At that time she moved back to Jamestown to live with her parents while she worked for Bridgeman-Russell Company. When James was discharged form the US Army in 1946, they moved to Lynchburg, ND where they lived there until 1954 when they moved to Morgan, MN. They moved to Fargo in 1958. Eva was a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church. For several years she was a dedicated volunteer at Bethany Homes and served two terms as President of the Bethany Auxiliary. She was very involved in starting the Bethany Gift Shop and Coffee Shop. She delivered Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed golf, cards, bowling, handwork, reading, travel and puzzles. She entered Bethany Homes in January of 2000.. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother LeRoy Chilson, and her sister: Marguerite Jung. She is survived by her husband James (Jim) of Bethany Homes, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Bethany Homes, Hospice of the Red River Valley, or a charity of the donor?s choice. Her family and friends wish to thank the staff of Bethany Homes for their loving and attentive care shown to her during her time there as a resident. The Funeral Service for Eva will be Friday, March 16, 2007 at 1:00pm in the Mavis Whiting Chapel at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be 1 hour before.
