Obituary

Evangeline “Van” Klose, 77, passed away February 10, 2020 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.

Evangeline was born may 24, 1942 to Eigen and Elsie (Schweigert) Schweinforth in Gackle, ND. Van groomed dogs for over 20 years where she established good friendships. She cherished the lakes and our cabin was constantly a congregation of friends and family almost every weekend. Van could be spotted most times gardening, fishing, and spending the evenings around the bonfire. All who met her enjoyed her quick wit and she certainly kept the grand kids on their toes. She will be greatly missed.

Evangeline is survived by her sons, Brian (Dana) Klose of Saint Charles, Illinois, Bradley of Fargo, ND, Jeffrey (Carrie) Klose of Lakeville, MN; 9 Grandchildren; and sister, Darlene Diede of Jamestown, ND.

Evangeline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald; and parents.

Private services will be held at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo.

    Brian, Brad and Jeff,
My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your Mom. She is now at peace and with Don. I have a lifetime of great memories from my childhood with all the Klose’s at the farm, being the ring bearer at your folk’s wedding, the bat boy for your Dad’s softball team, and so many weekends at the lake growing up. Your Mom always had such a great sense of humor! She was such a joy to be around, and she will be missed.

    Brian, Brad and Jeff,

So sorry to hear about your mom passing. I have such happy memories of Vanny. She was such a wonderful person to know — she had such a warm, joyful sense of humor! I called her a couple times recently and we had some great talks. You all are in my prayers.

    Blessings to you.

Vanny will be missed by all. When we were younger and you were living in Jamestown we had so much fun doing things together with your Mom and Dad. We lived in the apartments on 10th street and your family started out in the apartments and then move the next street south. I am glad I was able to get together with Vanny a few times when I visited Fargo. She was so proud of her sons and grandchildren. She always mentioned the “trips”.

I remember her as well as your dad as great friendly people while growing up in Fargo.

Brian, Brad, Jeff and family, it is so difficult to put into words what an amazing mother you had, but I am sure you know that already. How much she made everyone she met feel like they were family. Just her way of asking you how you were doing, how the family was, and to make sure you greet everyone for her was one small way Van was an amazing lady. Her sense of humor brought joy to everyone. And oh how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. The world is a little less fun without Van, but I will hold dear to my heart her sense of humor, her wonderful laugh, and that we cared so much about each other. Rest In Peace Van. From all of us (Barbara, Olivia, Jackson, and Caroline).

    Brian, Brad, Jeff and families,
It is truly difficult to express how warm and inviting Van was to all of us clowns as we were “growing up”… always a bright smile & a hug… and then to everyone in our families. Her smile and laugh brightened every room she entered!
