Fern J. Loyland Fargo, North Dakota Fern passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo at the age of 80. Fern Natwick was born on November 24, 1926, the daughter of George and Mabel Natwick, in Buxton, ND. She grew up in this area and later taught in a rural school near Buxton. Fern was united in marriage to Verl Loyland on May 9, 1948 in Buxton where they made their home prior to moving to Finley, ND. Fern and Verl lived in Finley for many years while they raised their family. They later moved to Denver, CO, where Fern had the privilege for working at Southwestern Drywall. She loved working there for her extended family, Dick and Karen. In 1991 Verl and Fern moved to Fargo, ND. In Fargo she worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield for nearly ten years prior to her retirement in 1999. Verl passed away in 2000. Fern was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will always be remembered for the love she had for family. Fern greatly enjoyed her work at church with all of her friends. She also spent many days in the kitchen baking for family and friends. Her husband, Verl; and her son, Gary Dale, preceded her in death. Fern is survived by her children, Linda (Greg) Olson of Fargo; Wayne Loyland of West Fargo, ND; and Joni (Chris) Prater of Amarillo, TX; her grandchildren, Kirsten, Lisen, Erik, Krystle, Andy, Blake, Austin, Dylan; and her great grandchildren, Max and Kaitlyn. Also surviving are her sisters, Denora Knute and Dorothy Hanmer; her brothers, Wallace, Roger, and Clayton Natwick; and several nieces and nephews.
