Frances (Bobbie) Howard

Frances ?Bobbie? Howard Frances Veronica Anastasia Scholastica Mary Cleary Howard, better known and loved as Bobbie Howard, passed quietly in her home on Monday, November 27, 2006. Bobbie Cleary was born on September 9, 1924 in Walhalla, ND to John and Catherine (Carey) Cleary. She was the youngest of 10 children. Her education included St. James Academy in Grand Forks, ND and Dakota Business College in Fargo. She was proud to have served in the US Navy stationed in Cleveland, OH. She married Dale Howard more than 60 years ago on August 31, 1946. To know her was to love her. She always tried to put a smile on your face while never belittling you. She would recite a poem, then do a jig, patch-up an injured hand, all while washing dishes after she filled your tummy. Her husband, kids, grandkids and friends would always want to be around this beautiful lady. Bobbie could often be found walking the track at North High School, hiking around the Turtle Pond at her lake home or on her knees in the garden. She is survived by her husband and best friend Dale of Fargo; also her children Chere Howard of Bloomington, IN; Larry (Sally) Howard of Sommerville, SC; John (Joyce) Howard of Fargo, ND; Beth (Brian) Funk of Moorhead, MN; Shayne (Brian) Jacobson of Fergus Falls, MN. She also leaves behind her sister Muriel and nine grandchildren: Chris and Ben Swanson of Bloomington, IN; Damien and Jesse Howard of Sommerville, SC; Nicole, Katie and Alex Howard of Fargo, ND; and Jonathan and Lauren Funk of Moorhead, MN. Viewing will be on Thursday, November 30, 2006 from 4-6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5 p.m. at Boulger Funeral Home. There will be a private family service on Friday, December 1, 2006.
