Frances Glasow

Frances E. Glasow, age 74, Leonard, ND, died on April 27, 2006 in Fargo, ND after a brief illness. Frances Discher was born on October 6, 1931 in Fargo, ND to Alfred and Martha (Schroeder) Discher. She graduated from Leonard High School and attended one year of college at Valley City State Teachers? College in Valley City, ND. Frances taught school for one year near Amenia, ND. She married Clifford J. Glasow on October 20, 1951 at Bethel Moravian Church, rural Davenport, ND. She and Clifford moved on to the home farm after Clifford?s parents moved to Fargo. They lived there until June of 1977 and then moved to Leonard, ND and built a home on Frances? parent?s home place. On April 8, 2006 Frances suffered a stroke at her home and spent two weeks in the hospital before passing away. She collected Hummel figurines and had quite a green thumb both indoors and out. She made great sugar cookies for family gatherings, and will be remembered for her cooking?especially scalloped potatoes and potato salad. Her pride and joy was being involved in her grandchildren?s lives. Frances joined Canaan Moravian Church after her marriage and was an active member and volunteer, and currently held the rule of Treasurer for the Women?s Fellowship. She is survived by her husband, Clifford; children, Dallas (Paula) Glasow, Davenport, ND, Joan (Rich) Westlund, Fargo, ND, Bruce (Mara) Glasow, Davenport, ND; 7 grandchildren, Tracey Glasow, Fargo, ND, Trisha Glasow, Mounds View, MN, Taylor Glasow, Davenport, ND, Stephanie (Jesse) Cook, West Fargo, ND, Mallory Glasow, Fargo, ND, Lauran Glasow, Davenport, ND, Harlee Glasow, Davenport, ND; one great grandchild, Tracey?s daughter, Ellisyn Frances Mikkelsen; her sister, Dorothy (Kenneth) Tangen, Valley City, ND; and one sister-in-law, Cecelia Hans, Fargo, ND.
