Frieda Nyhof

Frieda M. Nyhof, 86 of 1435 33rd St. So. Fargo, ND died Monday, August 22, 2005 in Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, ND Frieda Maria Sophia Nyhof was born on December 25, 1918 in LaMars, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm and then met Raymond H. Nyhof. They married on April 29, 1939 in Hawarden, Iowa. Frieda owned and managed several cafes in the Fargo and Wahpeton areas. Frieda carried her enjoyment of cooking and serving with her throughout her life, especially during the holidays. However, there was always a plate on her table for anyone who might stop in to visit. In the summer time, Frieda was so excited to pick and share her homegrown vegetables. Most of all, Frieda was extremely proud of her family. Her face would light up with a warm embracing smile when a new grandchild or great grandchild was born. She delighted in sewing and tying a new guilt in celebration of their birth. Frieda is survived by her children: Rosalee (Rodney) Laughlin, Fargo, Gene (Joanne), Fargo, ND, Dennis (Nancy), Gilbert, AZ, Beverly (Larry) Breuer, Germantown, Wisconsin, Arthur (Becky), Germantown, Wisconsin, Gary (Kathy), Fargo, ND; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; three brothers: Lorenz (Beverly), Willmar, MN, Herbert, Daisy, ND, and George (Myrtle), Audubon, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, her parents, and her brother, Alfred. Visitation: Thursday 5-7 p.m. - Boulger Funeral Home and Friday in the church one hour before the funeral service.
