Gary Ronald French, 59, Fargo passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo. He was born on November 15, 1953 to Duane and Bernice (Ginter) French in Grafton, ND. He grew up in Grafton, graduating from Grafton High School. He later attended Wahpeton State College of Science. After college, he joined the United States Air Force and worked as a radio mechanic. Upon returning from his tour overseas, Gary worked a variety of jobs around the country.
Gary loved fishing and spending time at his “home away from home”—Kitchi Lake. He also cherished the time spent with his granddaughter.
He is survived by his children, Travis (Vanessa) Vondal, Tina (Arlind Vivier) Vondal; stepdaughter, Tanya Vondal; siblings, Lori (Tom) Campbell, Greg (Kim) French, Dave (Cindy) French; and grandchildren, LaNeah Vondal, Vivika Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Vinique Sanchez.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dave, Greg and Lori … please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your brother. May you find comfort in your memories of times spent with each other as you grieve your loss. Talk often of Gary and share your stories with all who knew him. I think he’d like that.
I’m sorry for your loss. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Gary but I remember him and the good time we had as family.
I remember one Christmas Eve Gary spent with us and his love for the Polish dish Vinegar Meat.

When I think of Gary, i think of how deeply he cared for others and how he would do anything for those he loved. He was there for me always, and he will be missed more than can be expressed in words or thought. May peace and comfort be with you under the grace of God.
We were very fortunate to have Gary as an employee of American Crystal Sugar Co. We are so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I met Gary through work at American Crystal. Gary was a hard working detail orientedTech Writer. His pleasant demeaner made for an enjoyable working relationship. Gary was a very intelligent man you could see it in his work willing to take on all challenges without any hesitation. A great guy!

Moorhead I met Gary several years ago at RDO in Grand Forks. Most recently, I was able to work with Gary at American Crystal Sugar in Moorhead.
Gary possessed a ton of technical skills, but what stands out most in my mind were the daily chats we had together. He talked a lot about his struggles with cancer, but he always seemed to end the conversations on a humorous note.

I met Gary at the Moorhead Crystal Sugar factory office. I would go out twice a day for the mail and always enjoyed visiting with him. My sympathies to all of his family.

I met Gary recently when he started to work with us at American Crystal Sugar as the Technical Writer for the Moorhead factory.
Gary was a great employee and quickly earned the respect of his co-workers. Gary was well liked by everyone he worked with at ACS and will be missed dearly.
