Gary Allen Haugen, 56, Davenport, passed away unexpectedly in his home.
Gary was born December 1, 1954 to Arvid and Fern Haugen in Fargo. He grew up and attended school in Davenport and Kindred. Gary graduated from Kindred High School in 1973. He attended school in Wahpeton before starting as a parts man with Internation. Gary took over the family farm in Davenport in 1978 and continued to farm for many years.
He enjoyed playing softball for Kindred and Davenport teams. He really enjoyed spending time outdoors - hunting or just spending time with a variety of animals including dogs and cats. He enjoyed his family particularly his nieces and nephews.
Gary is survived by his brother, Kenn (Linda), Davenport and their children, Joel, Fargo and Jill (Jesse) Stowell, Portland, Oregon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvid and Fern.

We are so sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. He will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten. We are blessed to have known him and will keep our memories of him & of our fun times and those crazy Wahpeton days forever. Our condolences to Gary’s family.

I’m sad to hear of Gary’s death. My condolences to his family. Gary & I were classmates from 7th grade in the Davenport school until we both graduated from Kindred HS in 1973. I haven’t seen Gary for several years but I’ll be digging out the yearbooks & reminisce in Gary’s memory!
