Georgena Mae Mohn, age 77, 1606 S. 17th Street, Fargo, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo. Georgena Winkler was born June 27, 1927, on a farm near Oriska, ND, to William C. and Katherine A. (Cook) Winkler. She grew up there, and graduated from Oriska High School in 1945. She then graduated from Central Dakota College in Jamestown. She worked as secretary to the president at Jamestown National Bank for 11 years. She was united in marriage to Roland Mohn on February 14, 1955, in Oriska. They lived in Jamestown until moving to Fargo in 1956. Their first home in Fargo was destroyed by the tornado in 1957. Through the years, Georgena worked at Sears when it was located downtown, Mrs. Blow?s Sewing Center at West Acres, and the Hardees in Moorhead. She also babysat her grandson Michael. She retired in 1993. She was a charter member of Church of the Nativity and a member of Catholic Daughters of America. She belonged to the Valley Stars Square Dancing group. She was very active in crafts, enjoyed cards, and was an avid Twins fan. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Roland of Fargo; two children, Irene Mohn of Wahpeton, ND, and Kathie (Marty) Wokasch of West Fargo, ND; two grandchildren, Michael and Jordan; two brothers, Fred (Lucille) Winkler of Fargo, and Douglas Winkler of Grand Forks, ND; one sister, Irene (Mick) Flanagan of Fargo; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William ?Bill? Winkler; and one sister, Shirley Schwehr. Georgena?s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Hospice of the Red River Valley and MeritCare Palliative Care Unit. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Church of the Nativity, Fargo. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday in Boulger Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited by Catholic Daughters of America beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held in the church on Saturday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in St. Bernard?s Cemetery, Oriska, ND. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
