Germaine E. Sauvageau, 87 of Fargo, passed away Saturday, May 09, 2009 at Bethany Homes in Fargo. Gerry was born on September 1, 1921 to Ernest and Georgina (Pronovost) Rheault, the fifth of nine children and was raised on a rural farmstead. She was baptized at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Wild Rice, ND, where she attended St. Joseph’s Boarding School. Germaine married her childhood friend and neighbor, Patrick L. Sauvageau on July 1, 1943. Following Pat’s military service, they resided in Fargo their entire married life. Gerry devoted herself to raising her six boys, whom were the pride of her life. She volunteered at St. Anthony’s of Padua, her parish church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. Gerry donated countless hours in the foundation of the ARC Thrift Store. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick L. Sauvageau; her son, Richard A. Sauvageau; her brothers, Alpha (Lorraine) Rheault, Roland (Marie) Rheault and her sisters, Irene (Tony) Richard and Elizabeth (Otto) Kraus. She leaves behind her sons, William (Sharon) Sauvageau of Fargo, Michael Sauvageau of Annweiler, Germany, Donald (Sandra) Sauvageau of Fargo, Gregory (Rachelle) Sauvageau of Fargo, Brian Sauvageau of Fargo; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Fred (Leona) Rheault of Dubuque, IA, George (Ruby Jean) Rheault of Fargo; sisters, Leona (Harold) Weis of Fargo and Laura (Louis) Voth of Fargo. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Friendship, Inc. Visitation: Monday, May 11 from 5-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and also one hour prior to Mass at the church on Tuesday. Prayer Service: Monday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Mass: Tuesday, May 12 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo. Interment: Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
