She was born on September 22, 1942 to Glenn and Grace Porter of Grandin, ND. She grew up on their family farm and later graduated from Crookston High School. Over the years Glenda was active as a 4-H leader, and in Homemakers. She had a love for hand crafts and quilting and enjoyed her time working with others on projects in the community. She served as Secretary for the Traill County Weed board for many years. She was named Traill County Woman of the Year in 1988. Glenda greatly loved time at their lake home with family and sitting on the deck enjoying the scenic view of the lake.
