Gloria Newman

Gloria Newman, 79 of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Gloria was born on March 21, 1929 in Columbus, North Dakota to Herman and Tillia (Thompson) Rude. She attended Jamestown College for business and married Maynard Newman on June 19, 1949. They lived in Minot for many years before moving to Dickinson, ND, Billings, MT, Glendive, MT, Columbus, ND and Hillsboro. She and Maynard especially enjoyed square dancing and she was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard, her parents and brother, Harlan. Gloria is survived by her children, Gene Newman of Bismark, ND, Lynn (Ginger) Newman of Cheyenne, WY, Glen (Susan) Newman of Hibbing, MN, Steven (Robin) Newman of Eureka, MT, Gail (Walter Mooney) Newman of Cummings, ND, Roger (Kim) Newman of Bemidji, MN; grandchildren, Cathy, Michelle, David, Sally, Nathan, Drew, Todd, Kari, Kate, Ryan, Justin, Caleb and David; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Floyd (Millie) Rude of Minot; brother-in-law, Dennis (Janice) Newman of Phoenex, AZ; sister-in-law, Shirley Charlton of Helena, MT. Memorials are preferred to the Hillsboro Medical Center Foundation, Capital Campaign, PO Box 609, Hillsboro, ND, 58045 or to Hospice of the Red River Valley, 1701 38th St. SW, Fargo, ND, 58103. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Columbus, ND. Interment: Grandview Cemetery, Columbus, ND.
