Gordon C. Goodfellow, 82, Fargo passed away Thursday, December 24 in Bethany Retirement Living. Gordon was born Jan 3, 1927 to John and Almerta (Barbour) Goodfellow in Rockland, MA. In 1944, Gordon graduated from Rockland High School before attending the University of New Hampshire, Norwich University in Vermont, and Boston University College of Business Administration. He transferred to the college of Liberal Arts and graduated with a BA in Economics in 1950. Gordon married Mary Ann Craig in First Congregational Church, Rockland, MA, on June 3, 1951. He attended the Andover Newton Theological Seminary, where he received his Bachelor of Divinity Degree in 1954. Gordon was ordained on May 9, 1954 at the First Congregational Church in Essex, MA. On January 25, 1990, he was united in marriage to Helen Gesche at Hillsboro United Parish. Among many things, Gordon will be remembered for his sense of humor, faithfulness, and his ability to preach the Word of God. He enjoyed golf, computer work, and was an avid spectator of every sport. Gordon was a born leader, helping in many administrative and organizational efforts. Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Helen, Fargo; children, Paul (Linda) Goodfellow, Winona, MN, Karen Goodfellow, Long Prairie, MN, Rev. David (Charmayne) Goodfellow, Lincoln, RI, Lisa Goodfellow, Hermantown, MN, Peter (Sandy) Goodfellow, Buffalo, MN; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Crane (Stanley), Mendon, MA; five stepchildren; twelve step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Blanchard and Phyllis Garland; daughter, Sue Ann Goodfellow; son, Mark Goodfellow; first wife, Mary Ann. There will be a prayer service on Sunday, January 3 in Boulger Funeral Home at 7 with visitation starting at 5. The funeral will be at 10 on Monday, January 4 in Plymouth Congregational Church, Fargo. Memorials preferred to the Northern Plains Conference United Church of Christ 1200 E Highland Acres Rd., Bismarck, ND 58501, Hospice of the Red River Valley, and Bethany Homes.
