Gordy Cannon

gordy cannon
Gordy (Gordon) Lewis Cannon was born in Fargo, ND on March 22, 1938. He passed away at Sanford Broadway Hospital on Thanksgiving Day. He was a graduate of Fargo Central High School Class of ’56. He was confirmed at Olivet Lutheran Church but later joined the First Lutheran Church. Post graduate, he attended Business classes in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the manager of a grocery chain store. He transferred back to Minnesota and had a long career in sales that included territory manager for Bonneau, territory manager for the Coty division of Pfizer, and finally worked for Howard’s jewelry before his retirement. Gordy was a devoted husband, father, and friend to so many. He loved family time and had an incredible joy when he spent time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He loved the many years spent at the lake and later enjoyed his role in the Fargo Central Alumni Association, the Elks, his ‘Breakfast Club’ and keeping a pristine lawn! Gordy is survived by his wife Shermie (Sharon), his daughter Lori (Lee), his sons Todd Cannon (Carol) Mantorville, MN, and Christopher Cannon (Erin) of Fargo, ND, grandchildren Cody (Alisyn) Taylor Schuff (Chandler), Alysa and Bailey Cannon, Courtney Cannon, Hunter and Tanner Kiefel, and ‘baby girl’ Schuff, great-grandkids Aiyden and Kloii Myegeto, (their very special parents Andrew and Becca Myegeto), and Caroline and Norah Cannon. Gordy was so loved. His sense of humor brightened our lives. Resting place will be at Riverside Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held in March, 2022. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God.
