Grace Dierke

Grace Dierke, 93, of Wahpeton, ND, formerly Walcott, ND died on December 27, 2004 at St. Francis Medical Center, Breckenridge, MN. Grace Jenks was born on May 11, 1911 in Barney, ND. Grace attended Danton country school and then Wyndmere High School. She moved to Antelope, ND and worked as a caregiver and housekeeper for a family in that area. She married Edwin Dierke in 1932 in Breckrenridge, MN. They lived in various places in ND. In 1940 they moved to Wolverton, MN and remained there until 1949 when they moved to Colfax, ND and later moved to Walcott, ND where Grace was employed at the general store and school. Edwin died in 1973. She remained in Walcott until August of 2004 when she moved to Leach Retirement Home, Wahpeton, ND. She is survived by her sisters: Verna Brandt Dunbar, Wahpeton, ND, and Eileen Larson, Jamestown, ND. She is preceded in death by her husband and brother, Emery Jenks. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Zion United Methodist Church, rural Walcott, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
