Greg Helle

Greg Lawrence Helle, son of Edval Helle Jr. and Connie Helle, passed away at the age of 33 on July 23, 2010, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.  He was surrounded by many family members and friends as he started his journey Home.

Greg was born in Langdon, North Dakota, on September 29th, 1976, and graduated from Edmore High School in 1995.  He attended college at Mayville State University and North Dakota State University.  Greg was well-known in the Fargo area, as he helped open many restaurants there.  Most recently, Greg worked as General Manager for J.L.Beers in Fargo.  He truly loved his job, his "regulars," and most of all, everyone he worked with.

Growing up, Greg loved sports, hunting, fishing and golfing.  Throughout his life, he was in the center of every fun moment with many, many friends and usually the guy behind every great prank.  He loved watching Twins baseball and listening to all kinds of music.  Greg could take any ordinary moment and make it unforgettable.  He was a caring, loving man who needed to take care of others, especially his mom.  He loved spending time with and spoiling his nephews, godchildren and "firstborn" Scotty.  Knowing Greg was a lifelong commitment, as you could never forget him.

Greg is survived by his parents, sisters Tracy Carlson of Fargo, Ashley (Dustin) Samuelson of Buxton and his adored nephews, Carter Carlson and Rylan Samuelson. He also leaves behind his great love, Andrea Williams.  Greg will be missed by his uncles Randy (Kristi) Helle and Mike (Debbie) Bender, and his aunts, Judi (Kenny) Thomasson, Debbi (Sammy) Johnson, Diane (Jerry) Koltes, Carole Helle and Joan Kartes.  He is also survived by his grandmother, Carol Helle, many special cousins and countless friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his grandfathers Edval Helle Sr. and Lawrence Bender and his grandmother Adahnelle "Joni" Bender.

as u already kno, i couldnt make it to your funeral.
my last memory of you is from the redhawks game-where u were guest 1st base coaching..not sober of course. & ur pants were far to large for ur lil legs..
carter was there. & it was a perfect night for baseball.
so that day was the last time i saw u and i would want no other last memory of you.

things aren’t getting easier w.out you.
i guess you can say it’s more convenient for me to just avoid reality rather than deal w the fact that one of my favorite ppl is gone.

i just want you to kno that ur on my mind every second. and im completely heartbroken that God took u away from me.

    ILOVEYOU.

I am so sorry to hear of Greg’s death. My thoughts and prayers are with all family and friends during this sad time. It sounds like he was a great guy and you will have many memories! I would have come to the prayer service or funeral but our family gathers in Minot during the Fair so I’m on the other side of the state this week. As it is always a small world, I overheard my niece, Jen, talking to her husband, Chris Nelson, about attending the service and it turns out that they were coworkers.

    Again, my sympathy to you.
    Linda
