Harvey Allan Laidlaw passed away peacefully with his family by his side July 10, 2014 at the V.A. Hospital in Fargo under the care of Hospice.

Harvey was born December 20, 1922 to Harvey and Annie (Swenson) Laidlaw at Kindred, N.D. He was baptized and confirmed in the Kindred Lutheran Church.

He graduated from Kindred High School in 1941 and entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 serving in the South Pacific on a dry dock. He was honorably discharged in November, 1945 and began working at Rustad’s Garage in Kindred.

In 1957 he started work at Dakota Plate Glass in Fargo and moved his family to Fargo in 1958. The last 10 years before retirement in 1978 he worked for Glass Unlimited in Fargo.

Harvey was united in marriage to Bertha Larson on August 24, 1947 in the Kindred Lutheran Church. They were blessed with 3 children.

Harvey was a skilled woodworker leaving his family with many beautiful pieces. He loved their time of travel after retirement.

Harvey is survived by his wife Bertha, sons, Dennis (Susan), Dover, MA, Richard, Moorhead, MN, Cheryl Marvig, Moorhead, MN, grandsons, Matthew Laidlaw, Moorhead, MN and Nicholas Laidlaw, Fargo, ND, sister, Eunice Rustad, Fargo, ND and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Annie Laidlaw, brother, Orville Laidlaw, sister, Harriet Laidlaw and son-in-law, Jerry Marvig.
