Obituary

Helen Hauer, 81, Fargo, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Manor Care in Fargo.

Helen Dorothy Bruse was born in Marion, ND.  She was the first born of 7 children to Henry and Lucy (Cornelius) Bruse on September 9, 1929.  She attended school in Marion and remained in the area until  moving to Fargo.

Helen was married to Dale Edward Davis on March 17, 1953.  They lived in Fargo and 7 children came from this union.  Dale passed away June 6, 1981.

Helen was very active within the Salvation Army church.  She donated countless hours serving meals, visiting the sick and homebound, and making craft items for bazaars.  She was a long time member of the Ladies Home League.  Through her service work with the Salvation Army she met and married Milton Hauer on June 9, 1985.  They remained very active in volunteer work with the church.  Milton passed away August 26, 2001.  Helen continued to spend time with her family and church.  She enjoyed knitting, word search puzzles, Teddy Bears and crafts.  Helen went to be with the Lord January 23, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by 6 daughters, Peggy (Jim) Gruenberg, Paulette Stone, Marsha Maxwell, Susan (Paul) Marshall, Debbie (Jerry) Beckett, Pamela (Hugo) Boj-Rivas; 2 sisters, Luverne Pearson, Mabel Verlinden; 3 brothers, Rueben Bruse, Harvey (Kathy) Bruse, Terry Bruse; 18 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Lonnie Davis; brother, Clarence Bruse; her parents; and son-in-law, Harlan Stone.

Helen’s family would like to thank Caroline Kraning, Collette Brown- Carter and Carol VavRosky for all the special care they gave Helen.

    DEAR :

Pam, Hugo, – Chris, Andy, & Jamal,
    Paulette & family,
    Peggy & Jim,
    Sue, Paul – Matthew, Luke, P.J., &
    Justin,

This is sooooooooo late but soooooooo
    sincere everything I/we do nowadays
is slow like this, not just this.

Know that I have been praying for all of you, including Helen for quite some time
now and WITH you, surely, through our
Helen’s latest battle in her war with her
cancer. She was, indeed, a courageous
fighter and got to live a long time, even with that constant enemy. I admire her
and the way she sort of just plowed on
    through life anyway through everything
that could have gotten her more down.

And I am grateful for everything that any of you has done for and with your mother, mother-in-law, and grandmoth- er that helped the Lord help her do this
and answer our prayers for her. You’re
quite a family, and I admire, love, and
appreciate each of you too! We don’t
easily get to as many things/places now
days, so even missed Helen’s funeral,
too. I’ve been so grateful we got to visit her at least that one time at Manor Care, though it was hard to see her that time… hard but good. Even then she found ways to communicate her love and friendship. She was such a faithful friend to us!!!!!

Now it’s been hard to know just how to
communicate with each of you & to con-
vey my/our sympathy to you. I am hop-ing that you are still checking this guest
book and that eventually you will all be
reading this & receiving our sympathy & love. I am still praying for you all &
will continue & will be trusting that, just as He answered our many prayers for Helen, in so many ways, including now
promoting her to glory , away from all suffering & back to Milt & other loved ones, & letting her live even more dir-rectly with her Jesus, God will also con- ntinue to answer your/my prayers for all of you sisters and your families. I don’t know you really, Paulette, or your family, but pray for you too. And each of the rest of you has a place in my heart & prayers. We’ll be seeing each other, hopefully, in various ways and places as time goes by. In the mean-
time, I hope you find this late addition
to others who have been sympathizing with you too.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Who
ever believes on me, though he die, yet shall he live.” – JESUS (John 11: 25)

    Love,
    Evadne & Jim

Peggy, Sue, and Family: Don’t know if you remember me, but I was rehabbing at ManorCare with Helen and even had the privilege of dining with her. She was a sweet lady. I got to see her Teddy Bear collection. Remember the tacos? I am home now. My sympathy to you on the loss of your mother. She is now with her son and loved ones who have already passed and someday you will all be reunited and what a reunion that will be. Take Care.
