Helen Nelson

Helen M. Nelson, age 96, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 in Bethany Homes, Fargo. Helen M. Hanson was born March 29, 1909 on a farm near Edmore, ND. She grew up there and graduated from Edmore High School. She lived at home until her marriage to Arthur Nelson on February 18, 1933 in Devils Lake, ND. The couple farmed in Ramsey County, ND until 1943 when they moved to Brocket, ND where they lived until moving to Aneta, ND in 1946. In 1951 they moved to Hitterdal, MN and in 1962 they moved to Averill, MN. They moved to Moorhead, MN in 1970. Arthur died on January 1, 1995. Helen lived in her home in Moorhead until 1999 when she moved to Trollwood Village in Fargo. She has lived at Bethany Homes for the past year. Helen loved being with her family and enjoyed traveling with them. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and embroidery. Helen is survived by her children: Shirley (William) Lee, Ramona, CA, Carol (Mark) Carlisle, Fargo, and Arlen of Eagan, MN; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her sister, Gladys Bauer, Anoka, MN and her brother, Norman Hanson, Edmore, ND. She is preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Renee. Visitation: Sunday 5-7 p.m. ?
