Hellen Bartels

Hellen G. Bartels, 94, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Bethany Homes of Fargo. Hellen G. McPherson was born March 2, 1911 in Bismarck, ND to George and Georgia (Amiot) McPherson. She attended Central High School in Fargo and graduated from high school in St. Paul, MN. She attended Pioneer Business College in St. Paul. Hellen married Adolph Bartels June 30, 1952 in St. Paul. He died in 1974. Hellen began work in St. Paul for Northwestern Bell as a stenographer in the Engineering Department. She held positions in the Personnel and Traffic Departments until she transferred to Fargo in 1952 as Personnel Assistant in the Traffic Department. In 1967 she was appointed Personnel Assistant in the Executive Department and appointed to Employment Manager in 1971. She retired in 1973. Hellen and her husband owned and operated Bartels Equipment in Fargo. Hellen is survived by a stepson, Dr. Robert L. (Janet) Bartels, Columbus, Ohio;10 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Edmund. Please direct memorials to the Nativity Catholic Church of Fargo. The Funeral for Hellen will be Friday, December 9 at Nativity Catholic Church, Fargo, ND at 10:00am. There will be visitation 1 hour before the service. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND. Arrangements have been entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
