Obituary

Howard Walter Heuer, 68, Valley City, ND formerly of Leonard, ND, died at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota on March 9, 2004 surrounded by his loving family.

Howard was born April 4, 1935 to Walter and Anna Heuer in rural Leonard. He was raised on the farm and graduated from high school in Leonard. Shortly thereafter he entered the service and served in the Army for two years. He returned home to farm. Later he began trucking and worked at Rustad?s for over 35 years. He married Emmelene Trader at the Bethel Moravian Church on June 19, 1976.

He loved driving truck and if he wasn?t out there, he was itching to be on the road. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going to casinos. Sunday afternoon meant driving around with his daughters looking at the wheat fields. Howard?s family meant the world to him and he was especially devoted to his grandchildren.

Howard is survived by three daughters: Crystal Lynn Heuer-Malaterre, Fargo, ND, Heather Lee Wolhart (David), Jamestown, ND, and Tiffany Ann Heuer, Valley City, ND; two grandchildren: Jadyn Douglas Raftevod and Adira Marie Ujwok; also his siblings: Verlin Elliott, Leonard, ND, Edna Schonberger, Richland, WA, and Harold Heuer (Marlys), Leonard, ND, and Wayne Heuer, Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edwin, and one grandchild: McKenzie Heuer.

Visitation: 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 12, 2004 at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND and one hour before the service on Saturday, March 13, at Bethel Moravian Church, Leonard, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 pm on Friday, March 12, 2004 at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND.

Funeral: 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Bethel Moravian Church, Leonard, ND with burial following.
