Ida Scilley, 73, Fargo passed away Friday, August 6 in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Ida was born October, 4 1936 in Horace ND to Herman and Yvonne (Lavalle'e) Cossette. She grew up and attended school at St. Benedicts in Wild Rice. After school, Ida helped on the family farm and worked various jobs in Fargo.

Ida met her husband of 51 years Eugene (Spud) Scilley early in life and they united in marriage on June 30, 1956 at St. Benedicts Catholic Church, Wild Rice ND.

Ida was very busy raising her family, first child Larry, second child Susan, third child Bruce. Ida took in several foster children before going to work at NDSU later in life as a custodian. She worked for NDSU for 24 years retiring in 1998.

Ida loved to cook, play cards, fishing and gardening. She loved it when people stopped by her house. She enjoyed spending time at the lakes where her family had a lake home for several years.

Ida is survived by her children; Larry (Sue), Fargo ND, Susan, Fargo ND, Bruce (Kari), Perham MN, grandchildren; Beau, Matthew, Megan, step-grandchildren, Nicholas and Whitney Delaney, sisters; Rita Levin, Gilberta (Willis) Clemenson, sister-in-law, Jean Cossette, and several nieces and nephews.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, parents Herman and Yvonne, brother Norman, infant sister, Marie, and brother-in-law, Leroy (Ted) Levin.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of grief. From my conversations with Joan it sounds like your mother was at piece and because of her faith she knows she is on to a better place.

  2. Fargo ndso sorry for your loss. I had the opportunity to chat with Your mom at length when I designed their bench monument a few years ago. We chatted up the old days on 3rd Avenue and had a few great conversations. My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow!
