Idah Monson

Idah Monson, 100, Moorhead Health Care Center, died on December 12, 2005. Idah Stole was born on March 13, 1905 in Shelly, MN to Jacob and Pauline (Langhus) Stole. She attended a rural school and went on to attend Business School. She married Alvin Monson on September 28, 1935 in Shelly, MN. They lived in Fargo, ND, Fergus Falls, MN, Jamestown, ND and Caledonia, ND where she worked as a cook at the school. In the early 1960_s they moved to Moorhead, MN. She worked in the Food Service Department at Concordia College for many years. She lived at Sharpview for over 20 years. In 2004, she moved to the Fairmont Assisted Living and was there one year. She moved to the Moorhead Health Care Center in January of 2005. She belonged to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and was active in her circle and the quilter_s group. She was a former member of the Shelley VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her son-in-law: Merle Schatzke; two nieces: Ardyce Holte and Kathlynn Anderson and several grand nieces and nephews; great-grand nephews and great-great grand nephews. The Funeral for Idah will be 11:00am on Thursday, December 15 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will be one hour before.
