Ione Martin

Ione H. Martin, 85, West Fargo, ND, died Monday, July 10, 2006 at MeritCare Hospital. Ione Holland was born June 5, 1921 at St. Cloud, MN. She attended grade school in Barnesville, MN. The family moved to Fargo and Ione graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1939. Ione married Ward Peterson in Fargo in 1939; he died in 1943. She married Alfred Martin January 6, 1945 in Fargo; he died in 1989. The couple lived in Moorhead and then moved to Audubon, MN where they lived from 1964-1972. She worked as a secretary for Honeywell in Fargo from 1963-1972. They moved to Galesburg, ND where they lived from 1972-1987 where Ione worked for the Security State Bank from 1972-1987. The couple moved to West Fargo, ND in 1987. Ione is survived by her daughter, Carole J. Peterson, Fargo, ND; her son, Al (Carol) Martin, Fargo, ND; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Lou (Donald) Gronland, Fargo, ND; her brother, William (Nancene) Holland, Las Vegas, Nevada She was preceded in death by 3 brothers.
