Obituary

Irene Foss Kavli, 91, formerly of Verona, North Dakota, died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at Bethany Homes, Fargo, North Dakota.

Irene was born April 4, 1912, in Litchville, North Dakota to Albert and Ida (Rein) Anderson. Irene attended rural school in Litchville, later moved to Scoby, Montana and married Oscar Foss in September of 1930. The couple lived there for a while and moved to Clarkfield, Minnesota and farmed until the Fall of 1939 and moved to Verona, North Dakota and continued to farm. Oscar passed away March 14, 1973. Irene lived in LaMoure, North Dakota for a couple years and then married Seymor Kavli in 1976 and moved to Walcott, ND. They lived in the Walcott area and Seymor owned and operated a heavy machinery excavating business. In 1994, they moved to University Manor, Fargo. They later moved to Bethany Homes in Fargo, North Dakota. Seymor passed away March 14, 2000.

Irene owned her own restaurant in Verona, ND for a few years and was considered a good cook and enjoyed crocheting.

Irene is survived by her children, Adryan Foss, Portland, Oregon, Eunice Hanson, Argusville, ND, Sheridan (Barbara) Foss, Portland, OR., Oscar Wayne (Marilynn) Foss, Portland, OR., 2 brothers, Harvey (Iva) Anderson, Verona, ND, Donald Anderson, Portland, OR., and one sister Shirley (Bob) McVey, Seaside, OR., and 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Irene is preceded in death by her siblings Raymond, LaVerne, Delores, Audryn, her parents Albert & Ida Anderson, Oscar Foss, and Seymor Kavli.

The funeral for Irene will be Wednesday at 12:30 pm in the Mavis Whiting Chapel at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND. Rev. Phil Larson will be officiating and burial will be at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery rural Verona, ND. Visitation will be 1 hour before the funeral at Bethany Homes.
