Tarpon Springs FLTo say I was proud that Isabel was my Grandmother was an understatement. She will forever be in my heart and all my wonderful memories will keep me smiling. She made all of us feel like we were her only grandchild and we all had our own unique relationship with her.

She lived her life with faith, love of family, style, humor and grace. She raised a beautiful family and I am lucky enough to see on a daily basis the results in her amazing daughter,my Mom, Sharon Mische Scheltens.

She taught me so many great lessons and ones that I have passed on to my own children. Thank you Aunt Bev for your beautiful post about her flying to my wedding even after breaking her hip and making sure she danced. She had so much fun bunking with Grandma Carole too. 🙂

Grandma Isy is with her love, Louie, and her daughter Erlys, along with our Tanya, Grandma Carole, Grandpa Ross and many other who have gone before her.

    A beautiful life…..well lived!

    Love you so much,

    Linda aka Lady Godiva

May Isabel Mische RIP, what age beauty, wisdom and grace Isabel had. She challenged scripture in years”…For like the days of a tree will the days of my people be, and the work of their hands my chosen ones will use to the full.” Isaiah 65:22. Sometimes words can’t even begin to take away the hurt, pain and void but let it be a loyal heart sure with prayers and many Psalms in mourning and in joy let His will be done in Heaven and on Earth. Matthew 6:9,10 Psalms 37:11 1 Corinthians 15:55

I was the office manager at Mandels from ’77-’80. Isabelle was my favorite. I was in my early 20’s at that time. Doing the math now, I would never had guessed that “Issy” ( as Jon Mandel always called her) was already in her 60’s. If Jon ever needed to seal a fur deal, she is the one he would call in to help. To this day, in my jewelry case, I have a Xmas pin, shaped like a bell, that she made for me and gave me as a gift. Her family was so lucky to have her as Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother

Yorktown, VA Our beautiful Mom was so happy and
we miss her so, but she is with Louie, Erlys
little Mary, and Tanya! She was the style
icon of the family and loved her family &
her faith. She made it to 100 and we all hope we can be as young as she was at that age! I had the best role model a girl
could ask for! I will miss our daily phone
    calls! Love you, Mom

It is hard to lose a mother, and I send out my condolences to the whole family. Isabel was a most beautiful, gracious lady. She was one of my favorite aunts, and it was always a pleasure to visit with her.
In the nineties I enjoyed visiting, and eating a meal or two with her in Fargo each summer, when I went to visit my mother there.
As children, my sister and I spent a week in Fargo each summer, and were treated like family. Isabel showed her great love for her family and Louis, my uncle with kind words, actions, and a sense of humor.
As Isabel held the Lord dear in her heart, so do I think the Lord now holds her dearly in a Blessed place.

Jenni and I are both saddened to hear the news of Isabel’s passing. We both thought of her as a very sweet lady, and if someone wanted to grow old “gracefully”, I believe Isabel did that nearly to perfection.

Thank you very much Montgomerys and Misches to allow Jenni and I to be a part of Isabel’s 100 birthday party as we both had a blast. Speaking with her there was fun as usual, but also inspirational.

All of you Miches and Montgomerys have our deepest sympathy in this time of healing.

Tim and Jenni Krieg and family.

Middleton WiI first met Isabel when my brother, Keith, married her daughter, Sharon. Over the 50 plus years, I’ve had the pleasure of attending some of the Mische family gatherings. The Misches are a warm, friendly and caring bunch, which I attribute to the parenting of Isabel and Louie Mische. They raised three wonderful children, who went on to raise more great kids. Isabel was a classy lady, and also a real trouper. I remember just before her granddaughter Linda was married Isabel had broken her hip. But that didn’t stop her. She flew from Fargo to Florida with wheelchair accommodations to attend the wedding. I understood that she loved to dance, and the broken hip didn’t stop her. She took a spin on the dance floor in her wheelchair with her grandson Greg. In other words, she lived life to the fullest for over a hundred years. I don’t think she was done yet.

    Fargo ND
Dick and I extend our deepest sympathy
    to Isabel’s beautiful families.

I have some lovely memories of Isabel
going back to the late 1950’s when I
would take the train to Fargo from Minot
and travel the distance for an ATO party
    at ND
SU. I would always stay with her
daughter Sharon. Earlys would give up
her bed for me. Isabel ran a ‘tight’ ship
in those days and we always respected
her curfew. Great memories! She loved all
of her family so much and enjoyed the
special times with her grandchildren and
    great grandchildren. She could recall
their names and know where and what
everyone was doing. Isabel was “class”
personified and I fondly remember walking into Mandel Furs to see her and she always
looked like a “million bucks” (as they
used to say) in the ‘olden days’. What a
beautiful lady both inside and out! She
worshiped weekly and was devoted to
her church and her many friends in her
church family at Holy Spirit. She was a
very special lady, and still so “with it” still
playing Bridge with her card friends, at
Trollwood at 100 years of age. Dick and I were so pleased to share in her centennial celebration. May we all be so fortunate to be so loved as she is, by an adoring family here on this earth, and now an adoring husband, Louis, and daughter, Earlys and others…all waiting to greet her in Heaven. Because…
that is where she is, you know!!
