Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Isel’s passing. I remember both he and Leon on the Honor Flight trips. In fact, one of my favorite memories was watching Isel and another Iwo Jima survivor visting at the base of the Marine Corps Memorial on our trip. I’m blessed to have met him. Sympathies to your entire family.

  2. Ken and I send our thoughts and prayers to you, Alice, Brad and Lori, Lori and Vern. We have known Isel for a few years now, but he was truly a good friend and could tell stories as well as writing several pages of letters with stories of their travels with added events. Our sympathy for your loss.

  3. Brad, Lori, and Vangerud Family- Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you! Doug and Karleen Mjolsness

  4. Lori, Brandon, and Diane, and of course family and friends, I’m so sorry for your great loss of this amazing man. Diane has always loved going to Fargo to care for Gtandpa Isel and Grandma Alice.
Im praying for you all and I know Isel is singing with all the angels and Jesus in heaven. 💜

  5. We will miss Isel a lot. He was a gentleman who looked after Alice very carefully. His personal warmth was expressed in a gentle, caring and astute manner. We knew him only through visits at church, but we always tried to sit directly ahead of them so we could exchanged greetings often. The Lord spoke to us through him and gave to us a model for life and for worship.

  6. So saddened to hear of Uncle Isel’s passing. In this time of sorrow and celebration of his life know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  7. Lori Goble We send our deepest sympathy to you and your family for the loss of your father. You are in our prayers

  8. Alice, Brad, Lori and families. So sad for Isel’s passing. We were blessed to have Isel and Alice for neighbors. Our girls remember Isel’s teasing. He was a kind and gentle man. We keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

  9. Brad, Lori and Vangerud family,
Lifting you up in thoughts and prayers as you celebrate the life and death to eternal glory of your dear Isel. Our condolences for your great loss.

  10. I am so sorry we are not able to attend today’s service! I know Uncle Isel had a very full life, and I am certain you have many wonderful memories. I will always remember his excellent storytelling and dry wit! I have always been grateful that he and Alice were able to be with my mother just hours before she passed.

  11. Alice and family,
I am thinking of you today with warm memories of your involvement at Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes and your many visits to our church dinners and other special events after you moved to Fargo-Moorhead. God bless the memory of Isel and comfort all of you.
    With love,
    Kathy Coyle
