James Blackwell

James Lewis Blackwell, age 77, Dilworth, MN, passed away Monday, February 28, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. James was born November 17, 1927, in Cashton, WI, the son of Lester and Myrtle (Olson) Blackwell. He grew up in Wisconsin. Eventually, the family moved to Chicago, IL. He later moved to Gary, IN, where he began truck driving. He served in the U.S. Army during the occupation of Japan. He returned to trucking following the war. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Mohardt on December 23, 1944, in Gary, IN. They lived in many locations before settling in Dilworth in 1961. He has worked for Jamesville Auto Transport for 31 years, retiring in 1988. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle of Dilworth; two sons, Richard Blackwell of Billingham, WA, and Jamie Blackwell of Fargo, ND; two daughters, S. Dawn (James) Olgeirson of Dilworth, and Melissa (Jeffrey) Evans of Lakeside, CA; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. No services are planned. Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
