James C. Gohdes, 68, of Durbin, ND died Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at the Arthur Good Samaritan Center, Arthur, ND. Jim was born to Theobald J. and Elizabeth (Schulz) Gohdes on May 8, 1936 in Fargo, North Dakota. Jim attended Addison Grade School, rural Addison-Durbin, ND and graduated from Lincoln High School, Casselton, ND in 1954. Jim entered into the US Navy in November of 1958 and was stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga. He was honorably discharged in 1960 and returned to the family farm. Jim married Sadie Carlson December 23, 1960 at the family farm in rural Durbin, ND. Jim farmed and ran a mechanic shop. Jim moved to the Arthur Good Samaritan Center in Arthur, ND in August 2004. Jim was a member of the Canaan Moravian Church as well as a board member. Jim also was on the Addison Township Board. Jim enjoyed his toy farm collection. Jim is survived by his wife, Sadie; three sons: Carl, Lonsdale, MN, Ronald (Petula) Parker, CO, and Thomas (Melissa) Horace, ND; two daughters: Mary Lou (Robert) Keener, Dover, OH, and Sally (Mark) Wadekamper, Lonsdale, MN; nine grandchildren; one sister: Luella (Ivan) Kezich, Castro Valley, CA; one brother: Robert (Cynthia) Gohdes, Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Jim is preceded in death by his parents Theobald and Elizabeth Gohdes. The funeral for James Gohdes will be Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 2 pm at the Canaan Moravian Church, rural Davenport, ND. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, December 17, 2004 at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Burial will follow the funeral service at Canaan Moravian Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND.
