Jim passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, at the age of 51, after a year and a half long battle with cancer.

James E. Reger was born on August 6, 1962, the son of Thomas and JoAnn (Hofsommer) Reger in Fargo. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo South High School in 1981, where he played football and did his art.

Jim was united in marriage to Nancy Volk on March 24, 2000. They established their home in north Fargo. Jim worked at Simplex-Grinnell as a fire safety inspector for many years.

One of Jim’s favorite past times was boating on Lake Melissa with his friends and family. He enjoyed movies, music, hunting and snowmobiling. Jim was an avid Red Wings and UND hockey fan as well as the Dallas Cowboys. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. Jim was loved by many and will be missed greatly.

Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy of Fargo; his children – Amanda, Nikki, Dallas, and Jack, all of Fargo; his siblings – Steve of Watford City, ND; Elizabeth “Liz” (Buck) Olson of Mayville, ND; Chris of Fargo. Also surviving are his grandchildren – Bella, Lucy, Jaxon, and Vince; several nieces and nephews, and many other very dear relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and JoAnn; and his grandparents.
