Jane Doris Oveson, 79 of Fargo, died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Bethany Homes, Fargo. Jane was born on September 29, 1927 in Fargo to David and Ethel (Love) Reimer. Ethel died when Jane was four years old and Jane was raised by David and Ruth Reimer. She grew up in Fargo and graduated from high school. She served in the US Air Force, stationed in Montgomery, Alabama and was the first woman from Fargo to enlist in the Womens? Air Force. On March 2, 1961 she married Lloyd ?Ove? Oveson in Las Vegas, Nevada. She worked for 10 years for Smith and Company in Fargo as a secretary and also held various other positions in retail and real estate. Jane enjoyed gardening, playing cards, traveling and visiting with family and friends. She was a member of the Eagle?s Auxiliary, including serving as President from 1975 ? 1976, won the Mrs. Eagle Award in 1991 and was Ritual Team Officer for several years. She was also a member and President of the Elkettes, a member of the West Fargo VFW Ladies? Auxiliary and was active in First United Methodist Church Women?s Group in Fargo. Jane was a very happy and loving person who made friends wherever she went. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Richard Reimer, Donald Reimer and sister, Mary Holman. Jane is survived by her brothers, Robert (LaRayne) Reimer of Carrington, ND, Herbert (Mary Jo) Reimer of Detroit Lakes, MN; sisters, Carolyn (Tom) Craig of Bonita Springs, FL, Ruth Ann (Milo) Haas of Oregon City, OR; in-laws, Shirley Reimer of Puyallup, WA, Mae (Palmer) Anderson of Fargo, Eileen (Donald) Braaten of Fargo, Mike Holman of Fargo; nephews, Doug Reimer, Randy Reimer, Paul Reimer, Jeff Reimer, Rick Reimer, Ron Reimer, Brandon Reimer, David Reimer, Steve Reimer, Bruce Craig, Scott Craig, Kevin Haas, Kurt Haas, Tim Otway, Scott Holman; nieces, Alana Banford, Kim Culvey, Cindy Magnuson, Tammy Mercer and Sandra Sidmund. Memorials are preferred to Bethany Homes or Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral Service: Saturday, September 8 at 10:00 am in the Mavis Whiting Chapel at Bethany Homes, Fargo. Visitation: Saturday from 9-10 am at Bethany Homes, Fargo. Interment: Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
