Jeanette Brusven, age 94 of Fargo, ND died May 23, 2013 at CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Long Prairie, MN.

Jeanette Marie Bella Guerard was born September 16, 1918 in Winger, MN to Peter and Marilla Guerard. She graduated from Mount St. Benedict High School in 1936. Following her high school years in Crookston, MN, she attended Interstate Business College in Fargo were she met Herbert Brusven who was a teacher at the school. Jeanette and Herbert were married June 4, 1940.

Following Herb's service in the Army Air Force during WWII, they moved to Ashby, MN where they owned and operated the City Cafe with other family members. In 1952, they moved to Fargo and owned and operated a Jack and Jill grocery store on north Broadway near St. Luke's Hospital for many years.

Jeanette was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the American Legion Auxiliary in Fargo and was an active volunteer at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fargo where she was a member since 1955.

Jeanette and Herb made their home in Fargo for over 60 years. 

Jeanette was an avid reader, an excellent bridge player and enjoyed attending concerts and a variety of cultural events.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herb in 1989 and sisters Blanche Berry and Lillian Millette.

Survivors include her daughter Sharon (Gary) Brown of Long Prairie, MN, grand-daughters Jennifer (Sean) McCaffrey and their three children Alonna, Connor and Christian of Fredericksburg, TX, Jessica (Steve) Meletiou and daughter Zoe of Stillwater, MN, and grandson Jason (Deanne) Brown of Long Prairie, MN and their three children Gavin, Aislinn and Lydia.
