Jeffrey Allen Meyer was born on June 9, 1943 and died on January 12, 2016 of natural causes.
Jeff spent most of his working life in the education field, having earned a Master’s degree from UND. He always considered himself a farm boy at heart.
He felt it was exceptionally good fortune to be raised on a farm in Gardner, ND. This gave him a lifelong appreciation of nature. On the farm, he tossed so many hay bales throughout the years and became so strong. When he was a freshman at Crookston Agricultural High School in MN, some seniors were harassing him and he didn’t know what to do. His father suggested that he challenge them to some arm wrestling. They accepted his challenge and lined up to take him on, only to be easily defeated. They never bothered him again. But it was Jeff’s inner strength, low key sense of humor, and natural interest in other people that carried him through the difficult times of his life – right to the end.
Jeff is preceded in death his parents Larry and Elaine Meyer and his son Richard. He is survived by his sister Meredith Meyer (Fargo), daughter Stephanie Warr (Fargo), son Karl Meyer (Austin, TX), and two grandsons, Benjamin Meyer and Axel Warr.
Jeff would want to express his appreciation and gratitude to the staff and his friends at Manor Care for their help and friendship.
