Jeremiah "JP" Solhjem

jeremiah
Jeremiah Paul “JP” Solhjem was born April 16, 2006, on Easter Sunday at home in McLeod, ND.  When he came into the world, he didn’t cry a bit.  He just opened his eyes and began being an incredible kid.  His life was marked by his deep soul, his amazing work ethic and steady personality. What he loved most in life was Jesus, his family, his best friends, Legos, food & working with his dad.  He had just started taking electric guitar lessons and is certainly already worshiping Jesus with perfect skills.  He was a 4th grade student at Sure Election Academy, at home with his brothers and sisters. He died September 17, 2015 in Grand Forks ND. He is survived by his adoring parents, Troy & Jana Solhjem, his siblings Laney, Craig, Sheyenne, Chase, Barak & Elijah, his grandmother Portia Smith, grandfather Jim Danielson, grandparents Allen & Karen Solhjem, aunt Meredith Jeter, uncle Neil Solhjem, uncle & aunt Jason and JoAnna Solhjem and cousins, Elizabeth, Olivia, Luke & Jack.  He had too many very special friends to name, that will never forget him and were impacted by his short life. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Denton Freedom House, 3083 Trails End, Aubrey, TX 76227 where Jeremiah loved working in the kitchen.

  4. Troy and Janna —

We wish we could be at Jeremiah’s prayer service and funeral. To show how much we care for you all; to praise God with you for Jeremiah’s life and for his new home in glory; to pray corporately with you all for the comfort and peace that Christ extends to ease the painful hole of Jeremiah’s earthly absence.

You are such a beautiful family, your testimony for the Lord has been strong. May the Lord be glorified through this trial.

I think we will try to go visit the Denton Freedom House on Wednesday afternoon. In honor of Jeremiah.

    God bless you, dear Solhjems.

    Love,
    Arlo and Cam Leedahl

  8. Thy Will Be Done, Lord by Joyce Eilers (written after losing her son)

Sometimes the road is heavy, and sometimes the road is long.
And sometimes, Lord, this heart of mine is not so very strong.
But Thy will be done, Lord, Thy will be done.
Father, I do not ask You to take this cup from me.
I only ask Your guidance o’er paths I cannot see.
And Thy will be done, Lord, Thy will be done.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
    Hallowed be Thy name.
    Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is, as it is in heav’n.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
    But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever,
    Amen.

  10. As a classmate and friend of Karen and Allen, I send my thoughts of sympathy and caring for a beautiful child who left this world too early. Blessings on Jeremiah’s memory!

  11. Please accept our deepest condolences. “What a wonderful God we have- he is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the source of every mercy, and the one who so wonderfully comforts and strengthens us in our hardship and trials. And why does he do this? So that when others are troubled, needing our sympathy and encouragement, we can pass on to them this same help and comfort God has given us.” 2 Corinthians 1:3,4. 12. To the Solhjem Family:
I’m so sorry for this painful loss of your beautiful son. For comfort remember God’s promise found at Acts chap 24 verse 15 where he assures us “that one day there will be a resurrection.” I’ll pray for your family.

  13. Dear Jana and Family,

We were so sorry to hear of the loss of your son. May the Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the God of all comfort, comfort you in this time and keep your hearts and minds stayed upon Him. May He protect you all through your time of grief and bring to mind His Words to establish your thoughts and to keep you from leaning unto your own understanding. His ways are not our ways; they are past finding out.

May God also be your strength encouragement in the days to come. Draw your strength from Him. And may you always remember that because of Christ’s redemption we have eternal life, and you will see your son again.

With understanding tears, and love in our hearts,
