Joan Evelyn Bringe, 80, passed away on September 16, 2009, from endometrial cancer. Joan was born in Melrose, MN, on September 12, 1929, to Henry and Nora Tembrock. She grew up in Melrose and graduated from high school there. She attended the College of St. Catherine, School of Nursing,St. Paul, MN and graduated in 1950. That same year on October 10, she married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Bringe. They moved to Duluth, MN, and then in 1962 moved to Fargo, where Joan worked for Dakota Clinic Ophthalmology. She made many friends along the way and enjoyed her work and patients immensely! In 1991 she retired and was content in just being a ‘homebody’ with the companionship of family and friends. She was a long time member of Nativity Church of Fargo, and sang with the choir for many years. Joan is survived by three children: a son, James Bringe, Fargo; two daughters, Karen Aske, Albuquerque, NM, and Mary Adams, St. Paul, MN; three grandchildren, Kate Bringe, and Matthew and Jared Aske; a brother, Henry Tembrock, Elk River, MN; a sister, Eva Donovan, Monticello, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters. Joan was her children’s greatest blessing; dearly loved by them and her grandchildren. She was a beautiful example of humility, true friendship, and a source of unquestionable trust. She was a patient and gifted ‘listener’. As one acquaintance offered, “she found the good in everything”. The Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 20, 2009 with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:30 pm on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Nativity Church of Fargo, with Visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Melrose, MN. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dear friends and relatives who visited, sent a card, flowers, or phoned. The many kindnesses shown to Joan comforted her and helped her with this last journey. Thank you!
