Joan LaChance

Joan F. LaChance Fargo, North Dakota Joan passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, at the age of 75. Joan Favreau was born on August 24, 1931 in Brunswick, ME, the daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Hunter) Favreau. She grew up in Maine and graduated from High School. Joan continued her schooling at Washington State Teacher?s College in Maine. After graduation she taught in elementary schools in Maine and Connecticut. Joan was united in marriage to Leo LaChance on August 6, 1955 in Brunswick. Joan then took time away from teaching to raise her family. They moved to Fargo in 1963 where they made their home until moving to Vienna, Austria in 1969. Leo worked for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) until 1971. They returned to Fargo and Joan worked for Eckstein?s Department Store in Moorhead, which later became Herberger?s. Joan and Leo returned to Austria in 1986 and lived there until 1992 when they moved back to Fargo. Joan is survived by her husband, Leo of Fargo; her children, Lois of Moorhead, Marc (Jodi) of Hastings, NE; and Matthew of Alexandria, VA; and her two grandchildren, Joseph and Courtney. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Louise Saindon of Brunswick. Joan was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Presentation Sisters in Fargo; or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. VISITATION: 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo ? and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Wednesday. PRAYER SERVICE: 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home FUNERAL MASS: 11 AM Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fargo BURIAL: Holy Cross North Cemetery in Fargo Arrangements entrusted to the care of Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo.
