John (Jack) Fritz, 70, Fargo, died Tuesday, August 07, 2007 at Villa Maria, Fargo under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. John Fritz was born May 23, 1937, the son of Frank and Celestine (Klontz) Fritz in Grand Forks, ND. He attended grade school at Ellendale #60, rural Ellendale, ND. He later moved to Fargo with his parents and graduated from Shanley High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 until 1960. After his discharge, he attended NDSU and graduated in 1965. John and Sharon Sauvageau were married June 23, 1962 while he was still in college, and they lived in NDSU student housing. After graduation, they moved to Grafton, ND where he was employed as business manager and executive secretary for the Grafton State School. They moved back to Fargo where he was employed with Fritz Electric. He later became co-owner with his brother. John was active with the Knights of Columbus. He was the first Grand Knight of the Grafton Council and was the first Grand Knight of the Fargo Nativity Council. He was instrumental in the formation of both councils. He served on the Nativity School Board for several years. John is survived by his wife, Sharon, sons; Tim, Chris, and Ryan , all of Fargo; one granddaughter, Ceely Mae Fritz; three brothers, Sylvester (Bud) (Lola) Fritz, Matthew (Delores) Fritz, and Lawrence (Judy) Fritz, all Fargo; three sisters, Madeline Stringer, Ann Candor, Eileen (Ted) Warren, all Fargo. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers who died shortly after birth, brothers, Henry (Hank) and Raymond, and sisters, Marie Thompson, Dorothy Stowe, Delores Skaarer, and Barbara Berglund. In lieu of flowers, you may send memorials to St. Gianna Maternity Home, Minto, ND or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
