Joseph Hartl

Joseph V. Hartl, age 70, died Monday, November 19, 2007 in Golden Living Center, near Battle Lake, MN. Joseph Vincent Hartl was born May 31, 1937 in Cando, ND, the son of Joseph and Elsie (Damberger) Hartl. He grew up on a farm near there and attended high school in Maza, ND. He farmed for a time, and graduated from Moler Barber College in Fargo. He worked for a time in Grand Forks, then moved to Fargo where he owned and operated Barber Palace. He worked for Village West Barber Stylists in Fargo until his retirement. Joseph Hartl and Joan Herbranson were married June 13, 1959 in St. Mary?s Cathedral, Fargo, ND. He was also a beekeeper and owned and operated Hartl Apiary with his sons. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, restoring antique cars, woodworking, crossword puzzles, photography and visiting with friends. He is survived by his wife, Joan, Golden Living Center; sons, Dan (Jill), Fargo, ND, Lance (Claudia), Fargo, ND, and Wade (June), Dassel, MN; his brother, Bill (Sharon), Starkweather, ND; and 4 grandchildren, Tessa, Levi, Hunter, and Mackenzie. He was preceded in death by both parents and a daughter, Ivy, who died as a child. Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 23, 2007 ?
