Julie Jasperson

Julie was born June 15, 1945 in Bagley, MN to Arthur and Tilda (Stavig) Jasperson.  She graduated from Bagley High School.  She played fast pitch softball for many years and won two North Dakota State Championships and played in one National Tournament during that time.  She was a member of the Softball Hall of Fame of ND.  She was known throughout North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin as a sports figure.  She participated in ice-skating and was a member of US Figure Skating Association.  She was very active in several sports year round.  She attended Dakota Business College for three years.  She began working at J.C. Penney's in Fargo in bookkeeping and was an accountant for Blue Cross Blue Shield and then First National Bank of Minnesota.  She retired due to health in 1974.  She moved to New Horizons in 1980 and lived there through 1986.  After living in Minneapolis for 10 years, she moved back to Fargo in 1996. Julie enjoyed music--especially singing Gospel and provided music programs at various coffee houses, nursing homes, senior citizen centers, high rise complexes, Bible studies, private homes, and get togethers.  Her favorites were the Alzheimer and specialty groups. served on the Board of the Mental Health Associates and did many speaking events on Drugs and Alcohol throughout Fargo area.

Julie is survived by her mother, Tilda Jasperson, Bagley, brothers Dennis A. (Dorothy), Jasperson, New Prague, MN, Larry (Levine), Bagley, MN, sister June (Denny) Young, Alexandria, MN and several nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Jasperson.
