I recently had a discussion with Karen regarding an upcoming reunion for the Harvey High School Class of 1964. We had a pleasant discussion about where life had taken each of us since we graduated and she discussed the challenges with her health and expressed how much she wanted to attend the reunion. We will miss her at the reunion but she will be remembered. My sympathies to the family.

Karen was a special person indeed. She gave people like myself so much caring, advice, and encouragement when times were hard. Karen tried to empower those who she served at MARC. She encouraged everyone to help themselves, and would advocate when consumers couldn’t for themselves.

Rest in Peace Karen, You have completed your mission and have been called home.
