Karen Fey Feltus,70, of Fargo North Dakota passed away Tuesday, December 17 in Fargo surrounded by her family.

Karen was born on August 7, 1943 in Wheaton, Minnesota to Harold and Hazel Berneking.  Karen grew up on a farm in the area with her two sisters, Lois and Helen and two brothers, Dennis and Dean.  She was the eldest of the five.  She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1961.

Karen met and married Wilbert (Bill) Feltus in 1963 and recently they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  Together they traveled the country and overseas with Bill’s employment at Lear.  They moved to Fargo in 1974 and raised their two children and countless animals.

Karen was an avid gardener and bird watcher.  She loved animals as well, especially horses and cats.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking, canning and making meals for family gatherings.  Everyone always requested her rice pudding and brown cookies.  She loved the great outdoors and was an enthusiastic camper.  Her large bonfires always kept everyone warm and happy.  She also enjoyed traveling with her family and cats around the country.

Karen is survived by her husband Bill; son, Shawn (Jamie); daughter, Dawn; three grandchildren, Dominick, Fletcher, Logan; four siblings and many nephews and nieces.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel.
