Karen L. Johnson, 49, Fargo passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 1, 2020. Karen was born July 6, 1971 in Fargo, North Dakota to Willard and Ruth (Thompson) Krueger. She graduated from Fargo South High School in 1989 before graduating from Moorhead Technical College. She married Bill Johnson September 18, 1993. They made their home in Fargo where Karen worked at NDSU in the College of Business. Karen had a way of making everything beautiful. She was kind, caring, high-spirited and was a friend to many. She was a loving mother and wife and enjoyed taking her children on shopping trips. She will be missed by many and will not be forgotten. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Bill, Fargo, ND; children, Drew Johnson, Fargo, ND, Leah Johnson, Fargo, ND; mother, Ruth Krueger, Fargo, ND; sister, Nancy (John) Skarpohl, Fargo, ND; brothers, Wayne (Lowann) Krueger, Fargo, ND, Neil (Brenda) Krueger, Fargo, ND; sister-in-law, Cindy (Kevin) Yagow, Milnor, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Willard and father and mother-in-law, Ernald and Karen Johnson. Per CDC guidelines, masks are required at both services.   1. I am so sorry to hear about Karen. I worked in Agribusiness and Economics and had many, many dealings with Karen. Always so professional and smiley. Thankful that I got to know her. Sympathies to everyone who knew and loved her.

  4. I am so sorry for your loss. I only met Karen a few times through company parties, but anyone who met her could see her light shine! We clicked instantly and laughed like school girls. My heart hurts for her family and friends.

  5. My deepest sympathies to the family I worked two floors up from Karen in the Agribusiness Department. We would often cross paths together in the morning and evening as we passed through the back door. Karen was so full of energy and often our talks were centered on her family. She left this world way too soon and my heart goes out to you all.

Our short talks when she came in the office were the best! She had a beautiful soul and a smile that could light a room.   12. My heart aches for all of Karens family and friends. She was the kind of person that was liked by all as soon as you met her! All of her friends at Clitherall Lake will miss her always, the smile , the laugh, how much she adored her family and her new home on the lake!     Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. I loved passing Karen in the Barry Hall stairway. Since both our daughters swam together we spent many minutes laughing and discussing the swim season. She was so very proud of Leah’s success and always so quick to celebrate the success of all the girls. Whenever our paths crossed, she brightened my day. She will be deeply missed.
